One foot in Suno, one foot in 1969

May 28, 2026

The industry frames the question wrong. It asks how fast machines can replace humans. It should ask what humans are now free to do.

Prompting Records was built with one foot in Suno and one foot in 1969. The first foot generates. The second foot remembers. Neither is decorative.

1969 is not nostalgia. It is the year La Piscine taught what restraint sounds like. The year Cohen wrote The Partisan. The year Brassaï had already photographed Paris at night for twenty years. Restraint, sensuality, the long second of a glance. Machines render the texture. They do not decide it deserves to exist.

Suno is the engine. Curation is the act. The taste does not prompt itself.

Machines can do what humans do. The question is whether humans will still do what machines cannot.
